Role Overview:
Under the guidance of the Credit Facilitator, you'll plan, teach, and evaluate language courses, supervise participants, and contribute to Village life through activities, cultural programs, and community-building.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach language classes, maintaining accurate grade records and progress reports.
- Communicate regularly with the Credit Facilitator on student progress.
- Live in a cabin with villagers, providing supervision and fostering a sense of community.
- Participate in meals, games, cultural events, and activity periods with villagers.
- Assist with light cleaning of Village spaces to ensure a safe environment.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership staff.
Ideal Candidate Skills:
- Conversational and written proficiency in the target language.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children.
- Maturity, good judgment, and adaptability to changing situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
- Experience teaching the target language and culture.
- Hands-on experience working with adolescents aged 14–18.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Concordia Language Villages or summer camp experience.
- Teaching licensure.
- Experience as a teacher in the target language.
