Summer Camp Assistant Chef

Assistant Chef – Concordia Language Villages
Join our culinary team this summer! As an Assistant Chef, you'll help prepare culturally authentic meals for campers and step in for the Summer Camp Chef when needed, assisting with kitchen management tasks like inventory, menu planning, and staff supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare culturally authentic recipes
• Assist in menu planning and food supply management
• Supervise and mentor kitchen staff
• Maintain sanitary kitchen conditions per state regulations

Ideal Candidate Skills:

• Willingness to learn and grow
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt and exercise good judgment

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Culinary-related major, minor or equivalent experience
• Experience with planning menus and ordering supplies
• Knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures
• Interest in preparing ethnic foods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with quantity cooking at a camp, resort, or public or private institution
• Oral proficiency in the target language
• Previous Concordia Language Villages or camping experience
• Home economics major, minor, or similar experience
