
Behavioral Support Specialist (One on One Aide)
The Behavioral Support Specialist - This role involves responding to camper needs and behavioral issues and maintaining communication with camp leadership and parents. This position is also responsible for implementing behavior improvement plans, reviewing camper evaluations, and ensuring a positive camp experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Collaborate with the leadership team to create weekly camper group assignments, to ensure a safe and supportive camp
Maintain a visible presence around camp, ensuring a proactive response to camper behavior issues
Respond promptly to behavioral issues, ensuring a safe and positive camp experience for all campers and staff
Maintain open communication with parents regarding camper behavioral and concerns
Maintain detailed documentation involving all incidents, action and behavioral plans and
communication to leadership team and camper families
Develop camper behavior improvement plans, offering guidance and support to campers and staff and follow up as needed
Create and review camper evaluations
Review camper information sheets prior to their arrival for special requirements or
considerations
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be 21 years or older with a college degree or equivalent professional experience
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
• Previous experience working in a camp environment or a related field is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team and
independently
• Comprehensive understanding of youth mental health and development, First aid, CPR and Youth Mental Health First Aid certifications (training can be provided during the off-season)
