Director, Office of Student Accounts

Director, Office of Student Accounts

We are seeking a Director for the Office of Student Accounts who will directly report to the Director of Financial Systems and is charged with the supervision and direction of employees in Student Accounts.

This is a full-time, administrative position. 

Example of Duties

  • Supervise and direct the activities of front-line employees, specifically in cashiering and customer service.
  • Oversee the entire payment process; including cash reconciliation, ensuring timely bank deposits, managing the ACI accounts, and reconciling monthly with the Accounting Department.
  • Ensure that all customers of the Student Account Office receive excellent customer service; provide dispute resolution to students, parents, staff, and other interested parties.
  • Manage the billing process, including coordinating with the Docu-Center and monitoring the automated Communication Management system.
  • Work closely with the Director of FA to ensure correct and timely transmission of all Financial Aid to student accounts.
  • Coordinate the preparation, updating, and release of all account credits in accordance with college policy, and all State and Federal regulations regarding Financial Aid.
  • Supervise coding and data entry to ensure the safety and integrity of all information related to Student Accounting.
  • Administer College’s required course material program and serve as the main point of contact with the approved bookstore provider.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, a Master’s degree preferred
  • Work experience in higher education Finance and/or Enrollment Services of at least five years required
  • Supervisory experience of at least one year preferred
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required
  • Demonstrate understanding and use of computer programs, systems, and programming; experience with Colleague and/or Anthology student systems preferred
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate. 

Compensation: Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting salary for this position is $70,000.
