Events Associate
MISSION:
The Bass, Miami Beach’s contemporary art museum, creates connections between international contemporary art and the museum’s diverse audiences. The Bass shares the power of contemporary art through experiences that excite, challenge and educate.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Events Associate plays an integral role in the successful planning of both public and private events at The Bass. He/she is responsible for fulfilling the mission and vision of the organization via strategies identified at the department level that focus on lead generation, outreach and coordination.
The Events Associate will be a dynamic, proactive, sales-oriented and community-minded individual committed to achieving revenue and programming goals of the institution. This position requires flexibility to work on weekends, early mornings, and late evenings, if required. The position reports to the Director of Public & Private Events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including but not limited to:
VENUE RENTALS
- Assist department with exceeding revenue goals to support the mission and vision of the organization
- Identify new prospects through various initiatives, generate leads, appointment setting
- Assist with concepting and implementation of marketing initiatives
- Database management
- Outcome tracking, measurement and reporting of all efforts
- Assist with event production during peak periods, when needed
PUBLIC PROGRAMS
- Talent and partnership management (target outreach, contracts, payments, asset collection, travel arrangements, etc.)
- Assist with executing sponsor related activations at public program events
- Responsible for data collection, guest surveys, and reporting
- Assist with event production during peak periods, when needed
OTHER
- Participate in department and organization-wide strategic planning to include implementation, outcome tracking, and reporting of goals
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings as needed
- Other responsibilities as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED SKILLS
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- Experience in sales, event planning, hospitality, and/or nonprofit programming
- Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, dynamic, innovative and strategic problem-solver
- Experience in fast-paced working environments
- Ability to pivot and provide new creative and effective solutions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
- Detailed-oriented is a MUST
- Outstanding follow-up skills and attention to detail is a MUST
- Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills
- Strong computer and database management skills
- Software knowledge: Microsoft 365 Suite, Tripleseat, DocuSign, Zoom
- Must be able to move furniture, boxes, other event items, when needed
- Flexible schedule is required
- Fluency in Spanish language a plus
