Job Opportunity - Seasonal Park Employee
- Position: The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is seeking seasonal park employees to help serve customers and maintain several Iowa state parks across the state for the 2025 recreation season.
- Appointment: Start and end dates are flexible but the typical season runs May through October.

Job Description: Seasonal Park Employees are positions of great importance helping to maintain a pleasant, safe recreational environment for the public at designated state parks and recreation areas across Iowa. Seasonal Park
Employees play an integral part in enhancing the visitor experience for those who come to the park. - Salary Range: $12.50 - $15.00
Duties*:
- Assist visitors by providing park information
- Check campsites, cabins, shelters, and lodge reservations
- Mow and trim grass, repair trails
- Clean comfort stations and shower buildings
- Maintain and repair facilities
- Maintain and operate equipment
- Operate power tools Natural resource management (prairie restoration and invasive species removal)

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s vehicle license.
Preferred Skills:
1. Skills, knowledge, and/or experience associated with general park maintenance tasks (equipment operation,
construction, painting, plumbing, carpentry, janitorial).
2. Ability to work as a team and keep on task during times of little to no supervision.
3. Customer relations skills to assist park visitors with various information requests.
