Social Worker
The U.S. Navy is seeking skilled Social Workers to join the Navy Medical Service Corps and provide vital support to service members, retirees, and their families worldwide. As a Navy Social Worker, you’ll offer advocacy, guidance, and mental health services in diverse locations, responding to crises, providing therapy, and connecting individuals to resources.
Responsibilities:
- Advocacy & Counseling: Support military personnel and their families in social, psychological, financial, and educational areas.
- Mental Health Therapy: Address challenges such as illness, family issues, and trauma.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support during crises.
- Resource Coordination: Connect individuals to necessary services.
Work Environment: You'll be stationed at Medical Treatment Facilities, Military Medical Centers, and Fleet and Family Support Centers globally.
Training & Advancement:
- Officer Development School (ODS): A five-week program introducing you to Navy life and leadership.
- On-the-Job Training: Further training specific to your role.

Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship and current practice in the U.S.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Two years of full-time clinical social work experience.
- Current clinical social work licensure for independent practice.
- Willingness to serve a minimum of three years active duty.
Preferred: Mental health experience, leadership skills, and comfort working with diverse populations.
