Position Summary:
Student Health Services at the University at Buffalo is actively recruiting for a Medical Records Specialist to join our diverse and friendly team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with New York State Public Health Laws 2165 and 2167, university policy and department requirements for attendance.
- Monitoring compliance with additional requirements for students in health-related academic programs and serving as liaison to those programs.
- Performing health record reviews, data entry and data entry audits.
- Creating and/or updating clinic forms on paper and in the electronic health record.
- Releasing confidential health information in accordance with state & federal laws.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree with 2-3 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 0-1 years of experience in a medical office, college health office, or college or K-12 school setting
- Experience with keyboard data entry
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with medical terminology relating to vaccination and laboratory tests for immunity
- Familiarity with NYSDOH Public Health Laws 2165 and 2167
- Experience using electronic health record systems
