Interior Design Intern

AECOM is seeking an Interior Design Intern to join the buildings & places team in the Boston, MA office.

This position is expected to begin in June 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks.
  • Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives.
  • Collaborate with senior designers on various residential and commercial projects.
  • Assist in creating mood boards, material selections, and color schemes.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, offering fresh perspectives.
  • Help with measuring and documenting existing spaces for renovation projects.
  • Research current design trends, materials, and sustainable practices.
  • Support the team in preparing design proposals and project documentation.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to ongoing projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in Revit and rendering software.

  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Boston, MA . The selected candidate must be available to work in Boston, MA on a scheduled basis.
  • Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $21.50/hour - $24.00/hour.
