We are seeking highly qualified candidates for a full-time Operations Associate position.This position will report to the Operations Manager and support our middle office operations while providing exposure to all the key functions of a buy-side investment manager. Types of recurring tasks could include reviewing and verifying institutional account performance, reconciling positions with client custodians, settling trades with brokers and custodians, maintaining and updating securities files, completing client requests, using software such as FactSet, Bloomberg, and APX to run and analyze data, and other tasks as needed. Candidates may also participate in additional tasks such as designing and implementing automated processes and creating customized reports. Candidates will be expected to assume a high degree of responsibility and show initiative early on. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; candidates are strongly encouraged to apply ahead of the deadline. This position is an extension of our successful 3-year Associate Program. Past associates have gone on to attend prestigious business and law schools or directly to successful careers in investment management, consulting and government. Based on the needs of the organization a few exceptional associates have remained with Cooke & Bieler beyond the end of the program. Please note that this position is in-person for at least one year, with increasing ability for hybrid/work from home over time.

Qualifications:

  • All majors considered, though strong quantitative skills are necessary
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Self-starter able to balance multiple tasks and work independently
  • Background in coding or computer science preferred 
  • Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office products preferred
  • Experience with Advent products, such as APX and Moxy a plus

Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000 plus bonus tied to overall firm profitability. The benefits package includes medical, dental, disability insurance and a 15% 401k contribution.
