
Part-time Canvasser
Shirley Aldebol is a lifelong labor organizer who has spent her career fighting for New York City’s working families. She’s running for the City Council to flip the only Republican-held seat in the Bronx and fight for affordable housing, fully funded public services, good-paying jobs, and safe, liveable communities.
Shirley Aldebol’s campaign is seeking part-time Canvassers to work on a competitive City Council race in New York City’s 13th council district. We are looking for passionate, hard-working individuals who will work with the campaign team to motivate voter turnout in the district, which is located in the East Bronx.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with voters through door-to-door canvassing while tracking voter responses
- Knock on an average of 100 doors per 3-hour shift
- Communicate with and report to the Field Director
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and high comfort level with talking to voters door-to-door
- Physical ability to walk and take stairs to engage with voters at their doors
- Access to a smartphone with the ability to download an app
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus, but not required
Logistics
This is a part-time position with the expectation of approximately 20 hours per week. It will require in-person work in the East Bronx. The position runs until the primary election on June 24th.
