Assistant to the Director
Urbanity Dance seeks a part-time Assistant to the Director to join its passionate and collaborative team. A successful candidate will support multiple of Urbanity’s departments — from development and finance to communications and artistic programming — and work directly with Urbanity’s director to help bring creative projects to life. The Assistant to the Director will aspire to achieve excellence in their given responsibilities by demonstrating flexibility, proactiveness, and proficiency across disciplines.
- Assist with the planning and execution of events and performance productions
- Help track finances and support fundraising efforts
- Contribute to community engagement initiatives, including Movement Meets
- Help manage communications with donors and board members
- Provide artistic input and support where needed
- Jump into supporting tasks across departments while keeping a team player mindset
Schedule:
This is a part-time position, 20 hours/week. Work is primarily in-person with regular in-person commitments each week. Some hybrid work may be discussed with the position supervisor if necessary. Actively engaging in Urbanity’s community first hand is a priority.
Required Qualifications:
- Administrative experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Apps
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Detail-oriented
- Experience with/aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment and an organization that delivers many programs
- Enthusiasm for helping others in a variety of areas and disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years related work experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with Amilia class management platform
- Experience or interest with dance / other nonprofit arts organizations
Salary:
$20/hour

- For each full year that an employee completes with Urbanity (from start date), the employee will receive an additional 5 hours paid vacation per year.
