What I liked

- flexibility to work around being a student; manager will always work with your class schedule - amazing benefits, unheard of for a part-time job (tuition reimbursement, product discounts, 401K match, employee stock purchase plan, fitness reimbursement, PTO, etc.)

What I wish was different

- the role in and of itself was very rigid and the standards are high - never being able to meet in person with your manager is difficult to build rapport

- really leverage the 3-months of full-time training - think about if your personality and work style fit the role

What I liked

I loved my internship because I learned a lot and gained so much experience in such a short period of time. At Apple you are surrounded by some of the smartest people that challenge you to work hard, collaborate, communicate clearly and effectively, and think critically for problem solving. The internship was very hands on and project based. Each intern takes on a primary project that they work on throughout the summer along with several side tasks that come and go. The other interns and your manager are extremely helpful when it comes to brainstorming. I liked the emphasis on communication because it helps everyone plan and get things done.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time to work there.

Advice

Work hard, but make sure you hang out with your intern friends.

Be outgoing! When tabling and doing student/faculty outreach you can't be discouraged if somebody ignores you or does not want to schedule a meeting.

Incredibly secretive, makes innovation a bit harder. But it's only for interns.

Advice

Don't do bugfixing - ask for feature work. It's much more fun and you'll definitely learn more.

I like the team-work involved with this position. Family-like atmosphere also adds to the experience working in retail, which could be very stressful.

I wish there are more opportunities to move up in the organization, possibly take internships in the corporate office.
