Communications and Engagement Intern

May - July 2018 • Washington, DC

What I liked

Everything from the people to the atmosphere to the type of work. I was working with social media, communications, web design and other nonprofit leaders throughout the DC area and I loved it. I gained a lot of knowledge about the non profit sector, how they run, and how they work internally.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have found a paid internship because there was a lot of work for no pay.

Advice

Be sure to utilize the connections you make outside of your school environment and keep in touch with those you make strong connections with. It will only help you in the future when it comes to jobs.
