Cybersecurity

June - August 2022 • Hartford, CT

What I liked

I liked the way company valued each intern and kept taking feedback each week to make it a more better experience. I was part of CYBER-SEC unit and meeting everyday with my mentor. I was provided resources to learn and show up with the best possible outcome on given projects.

What I wish was different

Advice

If you don't want to sit alone and learn from watching videos then learn few necessary skills beforehand. Show the courage and try to work on something realted to real project, so you get the hands-on experience.

Associate Business Analyst

May 2019 • Raleigh, NC

What I liked

Infosys is primarily hiring recent graduates from various majors. The training is well worth it, it was 2 months long and consists of agile project management, design thinking, business analysis and business analytics.

What I wish was different

What concerns me about Infosys is that they just hire anyone. There are many immature and unprofessional employees. People come in whenever they want and distract others who are trying to work. The environment is similar to high school and speed dating, many people come into the office to hang out while others make inappropriate comments and harass women. There is not enough communication about company protocol (every man is for themselves). There is not enough transparency. Associates aren't aligned based on their experience (associates are placed wherever needed even if they don't have experience). They are extremely disorganized, they don't plan or set expectations with associates The company is not agile, they use waterfall methodology and techniques, but Infosys' thinks it's agile. Management prevents associates from getting projects that would be ideal for them (They like to put Analysts in Developer roles and Developers in Tester roles). Management likes to force unwanted projects and they don't take associates well being into consideration (I know people that submitted resignation letters just to get off of project because management didn't listen).

Advice

As a current employee of Infosys, I wholeheartedly recommend that you don't work for this company unless you have to. There isn't much growth in this company, there is no culture or corporate integrity. I've witnessed many unethical actions in this company. I don't plan on staying here forever. Please heed my warning.

Data Science Intern

June - August 2019 • Bangalore, Karnataka

What I liked

The work environment was terrific. Everyone was so welcoming. As someone who was nervous about traveling half way across the world and be away from my family for 2 months, the staff was extremely welcoming and made sure all my minor needs were met. The real world experience I gained was incredible. I was thrown into situations where I wasn't particularly prepared but was always given some guidance and this allowed me to flourish and come away from the summer with invaluable experience. Lastly, the flexibility with traveling. The internship provided two free taxis a week which allowed me to have travel to the airport covered and catalyzed my experience of traveling to all parts of India culminating to one of the best experiences of my life trekking in the Himalayas of Northern India.

What I wish was different

I wish I had embraced the culture and food earlier. It wasn't until the end of the trip that I become more adventurous that I started to become so fond of the Indian food and culture. Now that I'm back in the US I yearn for the paneer and other Indian delicacies I didn't take advantage of during my trip.

Advice

Make sure you complete your project. It may seem easy to go through the motions especially around so many other young interns but never forget the reason you come. Completing the project goes a long way not just for your current internship, but your future ones as well.

Computer Vision Intern

May - August 2018 • Bangalore, Karnataka

What I liked

Working at Infosys gave me the chance to explore a foreign country and meet some of the brightest minds from all over the world. The company treated us extremely well, and I've never had so much fun at work.

What I wish was different

India can be a bit indifferent to deadlines, so if you need something done immediately, don't expect it to get done. Other than that it was an amazing experience.

Advice

Take every chance to explore that you can. I ended up on an interesting project while walking around campus instead of waiting for the opportunity to come to me.

Instep Intern

June - August 2018 • Bangalore, Karnataka

What I liked

I really enjoyed the international experience. The leaders of the program were very helpful in planning trips and making my stay wonderful. My project mentor was always available to answer questions. I was able to learn about international business and improve my own personal skills.

What I wish was different

I wish I had stayed longer. I was only there for 8 weeks and wished I had stayed for 10. Also I wish I had received more information before leaving. When I was there getting information was simple, but before leaving it was stressful to plan my visa, transportation without constant support.

Advice

Try to immerse yourself with the culture as much as you can. Talk to your mentor, locals and your buddy to find interesting places to visit, do and see. Use the resources they provide you as well.

Software Developer Intern

June - August 2018 • Bangalore, Karnataka

What I liked

As an Infosys InStep Intern, you receive lots of benefits, including a half week of paid vacation, free cab rides, and on-campus housing. The best part about the experience by far, though, was getting to meet and work with interns from around the world, especially as you can see their diverse perspectives and explore India with them!

What I wish was different

Sometimes, the work culture is a little slow, in that you'll have to ask for the same thing multiple times before you get it, as you may be passed between different points of contact. In my case, my team was scattered throughout campuses across India, so at times I was just waiting for the team to find times to meet.

Advice

Be open to expressing your mind about potential changes that you might want to make, either to your project or to the approach to certain things - the people you work with are generally very receptive to your opinion and will try to implement them or give you the space to.

Intern

July - September 2018 • Bangalore, Karnataka

What I liked

It was a global internship, allowed me to travel and explore new places, meet people from all over the world and experience working in a different country.

What I wish was different

I wish it was a bit more productive and that I coded more.

Advice

If you're not too serious about what you would like to have produced at the end of the internship, apply to this! I honestly loved the people I met and the experiences I had.
