I liked the pay, especially since it was higher than I anticipated for a lifeguard. The work environment was very uplifting. Best of all, hours were super accessible.
What I wish was different
I wish that the people in leadership positions were more experienced. I get that everyone starts somewhere, it just called for a lot of favoritism and disorganization.
Advice
If you are going to become a lifeguard, you need to be attentive! Since it is a waterpark, hundreds of people are unknowingly relying on you in the case of a dangerous situation. Being a guard is fun, but you need to be focused!

A chef and manager were very kind and made sure I was doing okay outside of work.

Learning objectives. There was no plan or set schedule of things to complete. Very unorganized and missed educational opportunity.
Advice
Amazing company filled with some great people, once the internship program is built to invest in the interns I think Kalahari and students will both benefit immensely.
