What I liked

Good pay for intern position. Great atmosphere with phenomenal work colleagues. Short commute from campus as well.

What I wish was different

They should have more work prepared for the interns because there have been some days where all you do is stare at a screen.

Advice

Set reminders for work time stuff because there is a ton of required stuff.

Supply Chain Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Everett, WA

What I liked

I was given huge projects with 5 year values of millions and millions of dollars. I also absolutely love the aerospace industry so it was amazing to be work a few hundred yards from the largest aircraft factory in the world and be allowed to talk to nearly anyone in the company to learn more about their job focuses.

What I wish was different

More company sponsored intern meet and greets. Other than that everything from the people to the work given was outstanding.

Advice

It's important to work hard, but if you want to exceed expectations then you must also work smart and fix situations before they become problems or to increase efficiency even when unprompted.

Financial Operations Analyst Intern

May - August 2018 • St. Charles, MO

What I liked

My summer at Boeing was absolutely phenomenal. It was full of very challenging & interesting projects and intern roles and responsibilities. I felt valued by my coworkers and manager! There was never a lack of individuals that were willing to meet with me for informational interviews about their division/function/or history with the company. Also worth noting, it was like working for a small company, with big company benefits. Great coworkers, mentors, and managers, while also having very competitive wages, 401k, vacation, and sick leave compensation packages.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Mesa, AZ

What I liked

The culture at Boeing is fantastic for interns because they treat you as a full time employee and give you meaningful day to day work in addition to projects.

What I wish was different

Management is slightly cluttered and the work moves relatively slow. Also, the rehiring and conversion processes are changing in 2019, so it is very new, slow, and unorganized.

Advice

There will probably be a lack of instruction for most of the summer, so it's important to dive in, ask questions, and create your own experience.

So many opportunities to learn about the different job opportunities at Boeing. If you are working in one job but are curious about another, you can interview someone who works in the job you’re interested in.

IT business partner

May - August 2019 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

I had the opportunity to accomplish tasks and responsibilities my full time peers were doing at the exact same time. Likewise, I was given the freedom and trust to deliver applicable projects that saved the companies millions each year.

What I wish was different

I wish I had taken the opportunity to explore other umbrellas of Boeing. During my time, I was only exposed to the commercial functions of the Boeing Co.

Advice

If you are bored or feel that you aren’t being challenged, y’all to your manager! They want you to have a tremendous experience and walk away only hoping to come back.

Finance and Accounting Intern

May - August 2019 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

I loved the close work with the entire finance team, I worked directly with executives within the department.

What I wish was different

I wish I got the chance to work with other parts of the company and get a look at eveyrthing, not just finance

Advice

I would say show up early, before everyone so you impress everyone. The industry is very easy to win over as it moves slower than we are used to with school deadlines and everything.

Guidance and Control Engineer

January - July 2019 • St. Charles, MO

What I liked

The experience, as a whole, was an amazing experience. The benefits that Boeing provides, even to their interns, are astronomical. The pay was good, the environment was great.

What I wish was different

They didn't really cater much to a cooperative intern. They focused way more heavily on their summer interns when they came in. Felt a little outcasted as a spring cooperative.

Advice

Definitely attempt a position with Boeing.

Procurement Agent

June - September 2019 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

I was given a lot of responsibility and immediately started buying parts and services for the company; by the end of summer well over $500,000. I also had a great manager.

What I wish was different

It was a good job, but like an desk job it isn't the most exciting work.

Advice

Put in as much effort as you can, and take initiative.

Everything! Everyone was so incredibly nice and there was a huge intern community that did events every week!

What I wish was different

I wish the Boeing 737 MAX issues hadn’t been ongoing although truly that’s the only negative.

Advice

Absolutely go for it! I enjoyed everything about Boeing and would recommend working there to anyone.
