Cyber Secuity and Assesments Intern

What I liked

I liked how they treat interns as full employees. My team was very helpful and nice.

What I wish was different

I wish there was an easier way to be dropped off by a spouse (the compound has armed guards at the entrance and you can only pass with a proper badge.

Advice

One piece of advice I would give is to ask questions. The people around you like when you ask questions and try to understand what's going on.

What I liked

Pay, flexibility, low stress.

What I wish was different

Hiring process was kind of a mess, although it was a little different than normal due to transitioning directly from part-time intern to full-time employment.

Intern

July - August 2019 • Huntington Beach, CA

What I liked

I enjoyed the flexibility of our roles as interns. I was able to learn a lot about different fields to which engineers can be applied to. There was also a lot of opportunities for us interns to network with each other during social events, and other activities.

What I wish was different

I don't really think I would have changed anything... It was a really good experience that provided us interns with the right kind of work that suited our level.

Advice

I'd say to just do whatever you can for everybody, because everyone could use some help here and there - you just need to reach out.

Supply Chain Financial Analyst

May - August 2019 • Everett, WA

What I liked

I really enjoyed the fact that Boeing treated their interns as they would any other employees. As an intern, we were given meaningful work that had an impact on the bottom line. Personally, I had the opportunity as a financial analyst to work on various estimates on the 777X program.

What I wish was different

I wish I had prior experience/knowledge regarding the aerospace industry before my internship. There's a steep learning curve with all the vocabulary and abbreviations they expect you to know going into your internship.

Advice

Have an open mind going into an internship, ask lots of meaningful questions, and challenge yourself!

Industrial Engineering Intern

May - August 2021 • Everett, WA

What I liked

Gaining professional experience, having a 1-on-1 mentor and project, getting to tour the company within my working hours, getting to have informational interviews with company employees, feeling connected to the company community.

What I wish was different

Not a priority, but would have been nice to have known my program department explicitly before arriving. Knew I was going to be in BCA Industrial Engineering but not the specific program.

Advice

Talk to everyone you can and ask them about their work. Keep a running document of the people you meet and their contact info. If your work is stationed in a cubicle, don't feel like you are obligated to be there all of the time. Get up and explore! The company genuinely likes to show their interns all that they can.
